Anzac Day Dawn Memorial Row

On Friday 25th April, we will be holding our Anzac Memorial Dawn Row to pay tribute to Balmain Rowing Club’s Anzacs. This is an event for all BRC rowers and we encourage our new members to be a part of this special occasion.

Rowers who wish to participate are asked to RSVP to this event via the link asap, please note we will be capping the numbers so book early to secure a seat in a boat. You will be notified of your crew the day before.

Run Sheet for the morning -
* Crews meet at the shed at 5.00am. It is important that everyone arrives ontime and move quickly to get boats on the water.
* This year our captain, Jeremy, will be playing bagpipes from White Horse Point as we prepare and push off.
* Crews row out and assemble at the end of White Horse Point and wait for the other crews to join them.
* Once all crews have assembled, the ode of remembrance will be read, followed by the laying of eleven floral tributes for the BRC oarsmen who lost their lives, then a minute's silence.
* All crews will row together in a memorial flotilla down Iron Cove - assembling in front of UTS.
* On our return all crews will compete in the 500m ‘Dardanelles Dash’.
* Once back at the shed there will be an Anzac breakfast for everyone, then we step back in time and read 110 year old letters from our soldier oarsman.
