Junior Classics

BV has identified a strong need to provide a pathway for junior players in regional Victoria. At present, talent is going undeveloped as young players are not exposed to enough competition to foster tournament experience. We've addressed this gap by creating a new junior country player pathway, and our Junior Classic tournaments are a key part of the strategy.

Junior classics are designed to provide a great opportunity for players to enter a tournament that is local and is focused on creating a positive impression. Only players from regional Victoria can enter

BV will support regional clubs to host these events and build capacity for further competition in the future.

The Junior Classics will also provide an opportunity for our talent selectors to identify players to form teams to compete in the BV Junior Teams event, in the Under 13 and Under 17 categories. Players competing at this event will also be selected for a Victorian Country Team. This team will compete at National Championships, subject to approval from Badminton Australia.
