Shuttle Smash: Girls into Badminton – Devonport Girls Program

Shuttle Smash: Girls into Badminton is a girls-only badminton participation program delivered by Badminton Tasmania in partnership with the North Western Badminton Association.

The program is designed to give girls aged 12–18 a fun and welcoming opportunity to try badminton, develop their skills, build confidence and connect with ongoing badminton opportunities.

There is no cost to participate, all equipment is provided, and girls who participate in the program will receive a free badminton racquet.

The first session will be a Come & Try, so girls are welcome to come along and give badminton a go.

The first five sessions will be held at Devonport Recreation Centre 3.30pm–5.00pm on:

  • Tuesday 20 October (Come & Try)

  • Tuesday 27 October

  • Tuesday 3 November

  • Tuesday 10 November

  • Tuesday 17 November

Coaches: Kate Munday and Brent Munday

The program will then continue in Term 1, 2027 with 4 additional sessions.

The first session on the 20 October will be a Come & Try, so participants can come along, give badminton a go and get comfortable with the program.

The program is supported by the Tasmanian Government through the Her Path to Play Program.
