2026 BT State Camp

The 2026 Badminton Tasmania State Camp will run from 13–15 February in Port Sorell.
The camp brings together performance-level junior and senior players for a weekend of coaching, development, and State Team selection activities.

Former Australian National Player and 2004 Olympian Ashley Brehaut will lead the coaching team, supported by additional coaches. Lasse Bundgaard (BT Participation Manager) will manage the camp.

Arrival

  • You may arrive from 7.00pm on Friday 13 February.

  • Players may also arrive on Saturday morning if preferred.

Training Schedule overview

Friday 

Court will be available from 7pm and there will be a 8pm training session.

Saturday 

The first session begins at 9.30am on Saturday 14 February, followed by a full day of performance coaching and development activities.

Sunday 

Selection trials will be held on Sunday 15 February in a tournament-style format.

Results from these trials will contribute to the 2025 Tasmanian State Team selection process.

Fee

The camp fee is $100, which covers:

  • all training sessions

  • accommodation at Camp Banksia

Note: Badminton Tasmania has subsidised the camp to $100 per player and will contribute $1,000 towards catering. Parent camp fee: $60.

Accommodation

Participants will stay at Camp Banksia, which offers new, modern and high-quality facilities.
Players and parents/support adults must bring their own bedding (sleeping bag/linen and pillow).

We will contact parents / support adults who indicate they are attending the camp.

A detailed schedule, coach list, hut allocations and requirements will be emailed to all registered participants prior to the camp.
