Umpiring is a great way to get involved with competitive badminton. An umpire has the authority over matches and is in charge of the court and its immediate surrounds. Umpires ensure matches are conducted in accordance with the Laws of Badminton, the rules and regulations of the BWF and any other regulations pertinent to the specific tournament.

By booking onto this course attendees agree to:

• Do several online components prior to the course - information will be emailed prior
• Be in attendance from 11am to 4pm (or as specified by the Presenter)
• Undertake a written assessment
• Be available to umpire at both the Under 15/19 National Teams and Under 15/19 Individual events - view National Champs information here

BATOC will:

• Conduct the New Umpire course
• Assess all candidates over the week of the Under 15/Under 19 tournament
• Provide National Accredited Umpire Certificate, upon satisfactory completion of the assessment
