Australian Taekwondo (AT) Coaching Education framework provides a pathway for experienced and new coaches to attain a revised Performance Coach Level 1 Accreditation at difference levels applicable to the different streams of coaching required for competitive Taekwondo. This renewal application maps across the previous Club Talent Coach accreditation into the revised Foundation Coaching framework at the accreditation of Performance Coach Level 1 for Kyorugi.

  • If you are between the age of 16-18 years old, the Australian Taekwondo Coaching Accreditation is for the training and instructing of students in class in the club environment.
  • If you are of the age of 18 years or older, the Australian Taekwondo Coaching Accreditation is for the training and instructing of students in class in the club environment and the coaching of students at State and National events. It is also a necessary requirement for coaching on National Teams.

The accreditation will be valid for one year and will cost $55.

Pre-Requisite Requirements

Before we start, you need to ensure you have all documentation required to complete your application. Pre-requisite requirements are listed blow.

Working With Children Check

  • States and Territories have legislative requirements to ensure the protection of children from sexual or physical harm by ensuring that people who work with them are subject to a screening process. As a coach you are required to have completed this process and will have been issued with a form of certificate, card or police check, a copy of which you will need to upload. Note that this only applies to coaches 18+ years of age. Expired accreditation will not be accepted.

First Aid Certificate

  • Taekwondo is a contact sport and therefore it is very important that as a coach you are able to administer first aid to your athletes and club members should the occasion arise. You will be required to upload a copy of your current First Aid Certificate. Expired accreditation will not be accepted.

Next steps

Once you complete your accreditation application, AUSTKD will review and if approved, issue your updated accreditation certificate. Your accreditation certificate can also be found in your member profile, once you log in to your member portal (revolutionise sport account). Coaches are also able to check the staus of their accreditation by accessing the AUSTKD accreditation finder here.

Do not proceed to the next steps unless you are able to provide all of the above documentation as the system will not accept your application.
