This Introductory program developed by Adelaide University Judo Club is endorsed and supported by Judo Australia (JA), the peak body for judo in Australia, and includes 'Program' membership for JA. Participants are covered by JA's personal injury insurance.
The Program has been shown to be safe and feasible for older adults. Each session is a combination of low intensity strength and balance work combined with learning to land safely from a fall and get up and down from the floor confidently.
The 10 session program is delivered by experienced judo coaches and Allied Health professionals, including EPs and Physiotherapists, who have been acredited in the course. Each session is 60 minutes, once per week.
The program costs $195, commences on Friday 20th February and concludes on Friday 1st May.
For participants who enjoy the benefits of this program and wish to continue to improve their skills, there is provision for you to enrol in a continuing program for the duration of your choice.
Spaces are strictly limited to ensure safety and an optimum instructor to participant ratio is maintained. So bookings are essential. To register and book your place:

If you answer ‘Yes’ to the key health-related questions of the form, you may need to get Medical Clearance prior to commencing the program.
Step 2 - On receipt of your Enrolment Form a place will be held for you.
Step 3 - Make payment to confirm your booking. You can pay with a credit card on-line by clicking the Register button (top left) and follow the prompts or request details for bank transfer payment be forwarded to you. Your booking will be confirmed, once we receive payment for the program.
Cancellation terms - If you do not obtain Medical Clearance or can’t make the course and need to cancel, you will get a full refund if you cancel by 15th February, and an 80% refund if you cancel at or after the first session.
