The World Health organisation (WHO) lists accidental falls as the second major cause of injuries leading to death and a high cost of medical care

One-in-four older people aged over 65 have a fall each year and 30% require medical attention as a result. Outcomes from a bad fall can be devastating for the individual and their family.

Dynamic Balance for Life is part of the solution for this problem.
It fills the gap between falls prevention and falls recovery! It is
an innovative Judo-based program developed for older adults to avoid a fall if possible, and to learn to land safely in the event of a fall!

It is essential that the Judo Coaches delivering this program to novice older adults are properly trained, so they minimise the chance of any injury or damage to this vulnerable population.

This on-line training is delivered in three sessions:

  • Session 1 - Sat 24th May, 11am to 1pm (CST, Adelaide time)
  • Session 2 - Sat 24th May, 3pm to 5pm (CST, Adelaide time)
  • Session 3 - Sun 25th May, 10am to 12noon  (CST, Adelaide time)

Details about the Dynamic Balance for Life Program and this on-line Train-the-Trainer sessions are available in teh attached files.

It is recommended that Judo coach hold an assistant CAF or similar qualification to undertake this training. Once you have registered Zool links for each session will be forwarded to your email.
