Athletics North Queensland and Athletics Northern Territory are calling for interested people to fill team management roles with the Regional Australia Team at this year’s Oceania Championships. 

The Oceania Championships will be held in Darwin, Northern Teritory - 17th - 23rd May 2026 

The Regional Australia teams require a wide variety of team management who can ensure a positive experience to individual athletes performance and athletics career education. The number of Team Staff assigned to a representative competition and their roles and responsibilities depends on many factors including the team size; the age and experience of the athletes; the significance and location of the competition and the nature of the event.

Whilst these are not paid positions, team management will be provided flights, accommodation, uniforms and meals for the duration of the championships.

Requirements of the team managers and coaches include (but are not limited to)

• Have at least a Level 1 Officials qualification (manager & coach)
• Have at least a Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach qualification  (coach)
• Have an up to date “working with Children card in your state
• Have a 2025 Level 2 ASADA qualification (free) (manager and coach)
• Be a member of an affiliated club/state of Athletics Australia
• Have a sound understanding of team management for a range of ages and abilities
