Welcome to CARD 2025
Dear Coastal Assassins Roller Derby Members,
As we enter 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey that has brought us here. Over the
last few years, we’ve faced challenges that tested our resilience, our adaptability, and our collective
strength. Yet, through it all, the heart of Coastal Assassins Roller Derby has continued to beat strong.
This season marks an incredible milestone—15 years of CARD. It’s a testament to the passion,
commitment, and grit of every member who has been part of this journey. While the road hasn’t always
been smooth, it’s the challenges that have made us stronger, more united, and ready to take on whatever
comes next.
In 2025, we are ready to rebuild, reimagine, and rise. This year, we’re not just skating forward; we’re
pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for our league and the roller derby community. With our
outstanding venue, prime location, and access to remarkable talent—including Australian representatives,
exceptional coaches, and dedicated referees—we have a foundation like no other.
Our goals for this year reflect our determination to grow and thrive:
● Expanding our offerings to include regular World Skate sessions, a Team Australia boot camp,
open-gender, A-grade inter-league scrimmages, and four “Learn to Derby” intakes to bring fresh
energy into our ranks.
● Revitalizing our training structure to ensure every skater, from beginner to veteran, feels
supported and challenged to reach their full potential.
● Creating opportunities for our coaches and referees to not only teach but to refresh and elevate
their own skills on the track.
This season is about more than just training—it’s about rediscovering our passion, building connections,
and reminding ourselves why we love this sport. Whether it’s the thrill of scrimmage, the camaraderie of
training sessions, or the joy of seeing new skaters take their first steps on the track, 2025 is our chance to
reignite the spark that makes CARD special.
To every member of this league: Thank you. Your perseverance, enthusiasm, and dedication are the
lifeblood of CARD. Together, we’ve overcome so much, and together, we will make this a season to
remember.
Here’s to 15 years of CARD—and to the bright future we’re building, one practice, one scrimmage, and
one victory at a time.

Sunday, 2nd Feb 2:30-4:30pm

Regular Schedule:
Sunday Sessions
2:30 - 4:30pm
Focus: Challenging higher level
sessions, followed by full
scrimmage. Lower level skaters
to facilitate referee and NSO
roles.

Wednesday Sessions
6:30 - 8:30 pm
(All levels, individual skills
focus with scrimmage for the
last 30 mins to allow game play
experience for our developing
skaters and an opportunity for
mentoring)
