Apollo Bay Sailing Club

Apollo Bay Sailing Club

Apollo Bay Sailing Club respectfully acknowledges the Aboriginal community, their ancestors, elders and families here in Gadubanud country. We strive to include our members in our quest to genuinely honour, respect and champion the inspiring Indigenous history, incredibly rich culture and language of all Indigenous Australians. We acknowledge the pain, hardships and losses suffered by Indigenous people.

Apollo Bay Sailing Club aims to provide a wide range of opportunities to a diverse range of abilities and age groups. Sailing in Apollo Bay can mean a peaceful cruise in the bay on a sunny afternoon through to an adrenalin pumping race in 25 knot winds on the southern ocean off the Great Ocean Road.

The club actively encourages the entire community regardless of sailing experience or boat ownership to experience the joy of sailing in Bass Strait. We welcome all ages, genders, cultural backgrounds and abilities. The club holds weekly sailing races from October to May which are open to beginners through to seasoned sailors. A typical Saturday race fleet comprises a few keelboats, 4-8 Flying Fifteens, 2 dinghys (with increased numbers during Dec & Jan) .There is an active cruising membership.

In 2023/24 the club plans to run a variety of learn to sail programs for Tackers, Green Fleet, Adult small boat handling, and FF introductory and intermediate sessions.
