Food will be provided and a bar for you to purchase drinks.

The evening will be an opportunity to celebrate the end of another successful season, but also to recognise and honour those teams and individuals who represent the best of our Aoraki Dragons community. So with that being said Nominations are open!

We want your nominations for the various award categories. These are:

  • Manager of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Sportswoman of the Year
  • Sportsman of the Year
  • Most Improved Team of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • School Team of the Year

Read the attached Awards Nomination Form. It includes a list of key attributes that we are looking for, in each category – make sure your nomination forms are filled with a lot of information for why you think this individual or team should be in the running for this award. Each team can send one nomination per category. That is, up to seven nominations per registered team. You don’t have to nominate your own club (or manager or coach or team member) - it can be from another club. The achievements of the nominees are for the period of 1 May 2023 to 30 April 2024. Get together as a team and get your nominations sorted!

Managers: please email the completed forms to aoraki.dragons@gmail.com by 2nd of June 2024 – no late nominations will be considered.

Follow the criteria on the Nomination Form carefully to ensure that you are as thorough as possible. Detail the achievements of your nominees, and tell us about the qualities, strengths, and behaviours that make them worthy of the Award. Provide enough for the judges to have sufficient accurate information when selecting the winners. Please don't assume the judges will be aware of all of your nominee's achievements or the work they do within your team/club.

This is your opportunity to showcase your team/club to the wider dragon boating community. The information you provide about your nominees will only enhance the awards experience for everyone involved.

Other Awards

Besides the above awards, the following will also be announced at the dinner:

  • President’s Award will be awarded on the night by the President, Noel Anderton, as determined by him (only)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award – will be selected by the Board as they see fit.
