About NSW Goalball

Goalball is a team sport played competitively by athletes with vision impairment. It was created after WWII in an effort to rehabilitate and keep veterans with blindness and low vision active.

Role Title: Marking & Digital Media Intern

Positions Available :2

Type: Unpaid volunteer

 Hours: 45

Duration: April 25 – October 3

Location: ACPE Homebush, Penrith Valley Regional Sport Centre, Occasional School Visits 

Position Description:

The Marketing & Digital Media Intern will work with the Director of Marketing & other NSW Goalball Board Members to establish media plan and key digital assets leading into the Australian Goalball Championships & the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics. This role will include assisting in producing digital media content including social media images & videos (e.g. interview with Paralympic athletes) as well.

Responsibilities:

The Marketing & Digital Media Intern will be expected to-

• Become a member of NSW Goalball (at no cost to themselves) and adhere to the terms & conditions and code of conduct;

• Assist in developing and delivering a media plan for 2021;

• producing digital media content including social media images & videos (e.g. interview with Paralympic athletes);

• Filming/live streaming the Australian Goalball Championships held between the 30th September – 3nd October.

• Assist in preparing press-releases and key personnel for interviews with media channels , including but not limited to- fixturing, court set up and results entry;

• Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times;

• Promote the sport in a positive light;

• Help foster an inclusive, safe and fun environment for all members, participants and supporters.

Eligibility Criteria :

• Current university or tertiary student studying a degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, Sports Management, or similar;

• Demonstratable professionalism, tenacity and time management skills;

• Excellent written and oral communication skills;

 • Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva etc;

• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Elements, CyberLink, Final Cut Pro, etc;

• Ability to travel regionally & work after hours/weekends where necessary;

• Available to attend the Australian Goalball Championships held in Penrith 30th Sep – 3nd Oct (non-negotiable).
