Background

Sports Administration Services (SAS), provides sports management and business support services for multiple sporting organisations (both NFP and for profit) across various sports. SAS believes that sport participation is critical for local communities and their residents as a way to build valuable character traits, such as resilience, grit, perseverance and leadership, qualities which assist in building community growth and personal development. SAS has the objective to become the premier provider of multi-sports programs, sports support, administration and management services, with a view to increasing active recreational and multi-sports program participation in the Asia Pacific region.

Reports to: General Manager of Basketball (West Sydney Wolves)

 

General Accountability

Members of the Sports Administration Team are responsible for all administrative tasks required to manage the Support Services offered by Sports Administration Services (SAS) to all their clients. Our clients are varied, as we provide services to multiple NFP Sporting Associations, Sports Clubs, Athletes and other similar organisations.

Key Responsibilities

This role will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Performing administration support duties

  • Answering phone calls and responding to client emails.

  • Assisting with player and parent enquiries

  • Assisting with daily, weekly and monthly tasks

  • Booking sporting programs

  • Work collaboratively to build strong relationships with members                                                                        

  • Attending to Sales and program enquiries

  • Promote and adhere to all policies and procedures dealing with sports management and support services within SAS

  • Understand risks that are associated with sports activities and working with children participating in junior sports programs

  • Promote a positive safety culture and compliance with all sports codes and the SAS WHS policy

  • Liaise with, and keep in regular contact with, Team and Coaching personnel

  • Other duties as required by the Sports Administration Manager

Essential

  • Warm and welcoming manner as the first point of contact for the Sports Department

  • Ability to manage the work of the Sports Department in a proactive and efficient manner

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills (with both internal and external stakeholders – this is a customer facing position)

  • Ability to work in a team as well as self-motivated

  • Excellent ICT skills including MS Office, Dynamics 365 and an understanding database management and the importance of data integrity

  • Polished and professional presentation

  • Practical experience in sport specific programming and operational elements.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement sport and business operational plans

  • Outstanding attention to detail, organisational and document management skills 

  • Excellent IT skills across the Microsoft suite of programs 

  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple and competing tasks and complete them in a timely manner. 

Preferred

  • Practical experience in sport specific programming and operational delivery
