About the Program

The Tennis World Coaching Pathway Program aims to attract the next generation of passionate and enthusiastic coaches looking for that sort after opportunity to work for a National Sports organisation. Sports Management or Sports Science students who are willing to challenge their thinking, apply their skills and develop their careers in a fast-paced and fun environment.

Selected students will be offered a casual coaching position with Tennis Australia, giving them the opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the country in one of our world class Tennis World facilities. As a Tennis Australia employee, students will have the opportunity to explore various career pathways within our sport and take on internship opportunities in areas such as High Performance, Athlete Services, Facility Management and Marketing, along with endless opportunities to be a part of the Australian Open each year.

At Tennis World we are passionate about coaching and hope that through our pathway program we can open the door for aspiring coaches and university students, giving them the opportunity to access and thrive from the many opportunities that exist in tennis.

Program Overview

• The Program aims to attract coaches or undergraduate students with a desire to work in sport and be trained in the field of tennis coaching

• The program addresses the key area of making coaching a compelling career opportunity and a legitimate professional pathway

• Through our coaching pathway program, we hope to attract, educate and develop the next generation of coaches and sports management professionals by offering an entry point to one of Australia’s most recognised National Sports organisations

• Selected students will be offered an ongoing casual employment contract with Tennis Australia as a Tennis Coach

• Students will be trained and mentored by some of the best coaches in the country and given every opportunity to succeed through our tailored career development plans

• As a Tennis Australia employee, selected students will have the opportunity to explore various career pathways within our sport and take on internship opportunities as part of their studies

• We also have some exciting staff benefits available to all selected students

Position Details

As a Tennis Coach at Tennis Australia, successful applicants will become part of the Tennis World coaching team and offered a tailored career development plan. They will be trained and mentored by some of the best tennis coaches in the country and given every opportunity to succeed through our coach development program. Once inducted, they will receive regular shifts within our adult and junior coaching programs, tennis camps, cardio tennis and social competitions, along with opportunities to take on additional work in front of house operations and administration.

Application Process

• National Applications open February, 2021
• *Mid year commencement opportunities available on request
• 10 positions will be offered Nationally each year

• Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed as received and shortlisted for interviews in February. Successful applicants will be announced at the end of February/ early March.
