Women's Coach Role

·   Balmain Tigers Australian Football Club

·  Lilyfield Road - Rozelle parklands

·  Balmain AFC is a growing AFL Club in Sydney's Inner West, competing in the Sydney AFL Competition. We serve the local community by providing a fun, engaging and community driven football club

·  Voluntary (discussion can be made based on experience)

·  ~ 12 hrs per week, Tuesdays Thursdays & Saturdays

·  Reporting to Balmain AFC Head Coach, & Football Operations Manager, the Women's coach will be tasked with management of female players for the 2026 season.

·  Strategy and game plan: Develop and implement effective game plans, strategies, and training sessions that align with the club's philosophy. Analyze opposition teams to identify strengths and weaknesses to inform strategy.

·  Player development: Design and oversee training programs focusing on skill development, athletic performance, and individual player growth. Provide consistent feedback using data and video analysis to improve execution.

·  Team leadership: Motivate, lead, and support the playing group to foster a positive and professional team environment. Mentor players to develop their leadership skills and manage their physical and mental well-being.

·  Recruitment and talent identification: Participate in the scouting and recruitment of new players. Identify and develop emerging talent to build the playing list.

·  Collaboration and administration: Work closely with other coaches, staff, and club officials to support the overall football strategy. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with league rules.

·  Game day operations: Lead the team on game day, making tactical adjustments as needed. Manage game day routines and provide clear pre-game instructions. 

Selection criteria 

·  Strong communication skills (Essential)

·  Strong player management skills (Essential)

·  Current WWC (Essential)

·  Experience coaching AFL (desirable)

·  Experience coaching Women (desirable)
