Role based in Western Sydney ( Bents Basin, Penrith Beach, Lake Parramatta)
The Australian Lifeguard Service is the professional lifeguard division of Surf Life Saving New South Wales (SLSNSW) and is recognized as the largest provider of professional lifeguards to local councils and land managers across the state. The ALS is responsible for patrolling approximately 75% of patrolled aquatic locations in New South Wales, delivering high standards of public safety and community service.
Lifeguards shall take all measures necessary (proactive and reactive) to prevent loss of life by drowning and/or injury to the public. Lifeguards are required to supervise the beach environment and ensure the highest standard of public supervision and safety is guaranteed at all times Lifeguards are to liaise and communicate in a positive manner with the broader community as a representative of the ALS, Council, other contracted regulatory bodies and Surf Life Saving.
Selection criteria - Ability to swim 400 meters in 8 minutes
