Internship Opportunity: Competitions and Events Internship: NSW Touch Association

Location: Canterbury Velodrome & Event Venues

Duration: 6 months (Approx 14 hours per week - flexible)
Start Date: Mid-November 2025.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our Competitions and Events Team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in competition/event operations and be involved in developing strategies for future events within a state sporting organisation.

Key Responsibilities

·         Assist in delivery of key NSWTA competitions, both metro and regional

·         Assist in promotion of NSWTA competitions and events, including member communications, social media

·         Contribute to strategic planning process for NSWTA Events Department

·         Development of branding and other collateral for NSWTA

·         Other duties as appropriate

What You’ll Gain

·         Practical experience in competition/Event operations.

·         Mentorship from NSW TA CEO.

·         Recognition of learning that can be used as WIL hours for WIL4101/4201 (subject to successful completion of the internship)

·         A deeper understanding of the sport ecosystem in NSW.

Ideal Candidate

·         Completed 8 units of a degree in Sport Coaching (Management), Sport Business, or Football (or will have by the start date).

·         Have achieved a Credit Average within their studies.

·         Excellent communication and organisational skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         MS Office

·         Experience utilising social media channels

·         Experience in website administration

·         Valid NSW drivers’ licence and ability to attend NSTA competitions and events

·         Interest in competition management

·         Interest in member engagement/membership growth strategies

·         WWC

·         Time management skills

·         Self-starter who is able to work autonomously (once tasks have been explained and agreed)

·         Reliability
