An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and skilled School Football Coordinator to join the Western Sydney Wanderers FC team. This role is pivotal in leading and managing various football programs and relationships with schools across Western Sydney. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing government-funded projects, paid school projects, and free in-school projects, contributing significantly to the club’s community engagement and sports development objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage school football programs, ensuring effective delivery across different streams (government-funded, paid, and free projects).
- Create and maintain essential documentation and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop relationships with schools, school principal networks, and operational-directorates in Western Sydney to facilitate programs effectively.
- Develop relationships with Department of Education (DoE) project leads to ensure compliance across government funded programs.
- Manage a Content Management System (CMS) effectively for program tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Community Department to enhance fan engagement and promote inclusion in the community.
- Drive the club’s multicultural, Indigenous, All-Abilities, and Female Focused programs in schools, enhancing diversity and participation.
- Achieve set targets related to school engagement, participant numbers, and revenue generation.
- Ensure strict adherence to child safety, data privacy, and governance reporting standards across all programs.
- Supervise one direct report and provide guidance to two indirect reports, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Brand Strategy Implementation:
- Assist in developing and implementing the company's brand strategy to enhance the Wanderers' market position in the community.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other tasks as required to meet operational requirements during peak demand and on match days.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, Community Development, or related field.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in a sports or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the Australian school system and sports program development.
- Experience in managing CMS and proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Knowledge of child safety regulations, data privacy laws, and governance in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities and promote inclusive programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with schools, community groups, and internal teams.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for football and community development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative thinker with problem-solving skills.
Unique Criteria
- Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as irregular hours and weekend work will be required for this role, such as working at events and some home matches.
