Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join and become a Aquatics Program Instructor. In this role you will be required to deliver high quality learn to swim lessons to a variety of ages and skill levels.
The program includes:
- AUSTSWIM’s Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Course
- On the job training and support
- Practical training AUSTSWIM hours and assessment with Aquatic Centre staff
- CPR qualification
- Work opportunities in other aquatic programs including schools, birthday parties and school holiday programs
Salary
Casual Rate from $28.82 per hour + superannuation + weekend penalty rates
Other Details
To be successful in the role you will need to:
- Able to complete a 100m swim test (Includes 50m Freestyle, 50m Survival Stroke/Backstroke/Sidestroke/Breaststroke) & treadwater 2 mins
- Be available to work for a minimum 2 days per week (1x weekday & 1x weekend)
- Attend an Information Session on Thursday 24 August
- Attend the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety Course on Saturday 26 August – Sunday 27 August
- Attend on the job training approximately 12 hours
- Be able to work in an aquatic environment and teach in the water
- Ability to work with children/adults from diverse ages, backgrounds and swimming abilities
- Strong communication skills when dealing with children and parents
In order to be employed as an AUSTSWIM Instructor you will need the following:
- Working with Children Check
- Non-Australian citizens holding a valid visa with entitlements to work in Australia are eligible to apply (supporting documentation required).
