Ausdance NSW is the peak body for dance in NSW. Ausdance NSW is an independently incorporated non-for-profit association, and part of the Ausdance Network. The NSW dance sector is a creative and vibrant community of art-makers and educators. We are a small team committed to promoting and advocating for the sector and its varied needs. Our highest priority is ensuring our members and the broader dance community are seen, heard, valued, and supported.
About the role
Title: Marketing and Member Engagement Coordinator
Salary: $42,000 annualised salary, pro rata, plus 10.5% super
Hours: 2 days a week (flexible working arrangement in agreement with GM)
Reports to: General Manager
As Marketing and Member Engagement Officer, you will lead the organisation to genuinely engage with members and the dance community state-wide through the development and delivery of strategic, meaningful, and evidence-based marketing strategies, events, and resources. As a key contact for the organisation, you will communicate with members, partners, stakeholders, and the broader community with the aim to build long-lasting relationships and expand the organisation’s network. In this hands-on role, you will draw on your creativity and understanding of the dance sector to promote the organisations projects and events, as well as our partner’s and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing responsibilities:
- social media content creation and scheduling, including graphic design and
- copywriting, and social media engagement.
- create and schedule e-Newsletters.
- create and maintain marketing systems (e.g., annual event and marketing calendar)
- devise marketing plans to increase followers, e-mail subscribers, and memberships.
- advance and maintain the look and feel of Ausdance NSW, ensuring all marketing
- materials are brand aligned and reflect organisational objectives.
- update and maintain website.
Member Engagement responsibilities:
- be the key contact of Ausdance NSW, answering phone and email enquiries.
- manage and process all memberships (free and paid) through our CRM system.
- support and communicate with members on a regular basis across a range of topics.
- devise and implement membership engagement and attraction strategies.
- build relationships with partners and stakeholders, including event publicity and promotions
- research and produce policies and resources.
- assist the General manager in data collection, analysis and creating reports.
- assist the General Manager in producing and delivering programs, workshops,
- meetings, and events.
- contribute to grant and funding applications, program administration and evaluation,
- and operational reporting.
- attend sector meetings facilitated by Ausdance NSW
About you
We’re looking for a people-person who is passionate about dance and promoting the arts. You’re equally excited by digital trends and making face-to-face connections and can use your knowledge of the dance industry and social media to build relationships and trust. You love being hands on and seeing projects through from conception to delivery and evaluation.
You are:
- an effective and engaging communicator (both written and verbal)
- a people-person who loves to network and build relationships
- organised and efficient with an eye for detail
- positive, curious, and love to approach problems with a solutions-oriented mindset
- able to work independently and as part of a small team
- looking to grow your skillset in a role that offers flexible working hours
You have:
- a passion, interest in, or knowledge of the dance industry
- demonstrated experience in marketing delivery and awareness of digital marketing
- trends
- excellent administrative and project management skills
- experience in Canva, MailChimp, Instagram & Meta Suite (FB), WordPress, Google
- Analytics, or have demonstrated ability in learning and using digital systems.
- A qualification (either complete or currently studying) in marketing, communications or business is desirable but not essential.
