Programs & Events Lead - Netball NSW

The purpose of the Programs and Events Lead is to assist with the creation of innovative and engaging participation programs and events designed for growing the game of netball and building capability within Associations and Clubs (e.g. alternative Competition formats, Schools Cup, Walking Netball, Fast 5, NetSetGo, EmpowerPlay). The Programs and Events Lead will work with the Growth and Innovation Manager to continually monitor and adapt participation programs, always aware of industry trends and best practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Focus
- Assist the Growth and Innovation Manager to create, monitor and evaluate the strategy, product development and implementation plans for all participation products.
- Assist the Growth and Innovation Manager to develop recruitment and retention strategies; implementing initiatives to reduce churn across all participation products.
- Assist the Growth and Innovation Manager to develop and drive strategic and capability building frameworks for all participation products and events.
- Develop feedback loops and stakeholder engagement activity, that inform best practice across program development, delivery and strategy.
Operational Coordination
- Coordination of the administration and booking of all participation programs (except school based programs) in the metropolitan area.
- Coordinate the delivery of all metropolitan Schools Cup events and work with Regional Managers to deliver Schools Cups effectively in their areas.
- In partnership with the Communities team, create a “best practice”/ “off the shelf” model for all participation programs, including Schools Cup events.
- Work closely with the Community Inclusion Lead to create and launch a Netball NSW All Abilities program that can be run in all regions.
- Event manage Koori Cup and Koori Gala Days.
- In partnership with the Communities team, create toolkits and modules for the use of Associations and Clubs that assists them in implementing all participation programs.
- Lead the operation of the Marie Little Shield team that represents NSW in the Netball Australia All Abilities tournament.
- Work closely with the Regional Managers to ensure participation program bookings are made regionally and processes are followed.
- Work closely with the NSW Swifts and GIANTS netball to facilitate fan engagement opportunities within participation programs.
- Work closely with the Schools Lead on supporting all participation programs.
- Work closely with Regional Managers, Clubs and Associations to implement participation programs that meet their local needs.
Stakeholder Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Netball Australia, Affiliated Netball NSW Associations, Clubs, external providers, schools and other key stakeholders to support the roll-out and growth of netball participation products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the Communities team to facilitate and promote the participation programs.
- Continually demonstrate values with a strong focus on teamwork to build and sustain a collaborative and consultative work environment both internally and externally.
- Supervise and manage casual Development Officers to guide their delivery of programs.
Administration Coordination
- Prepare and present written reports, as required.
- Responsible for managing, meeting and reporting KPI’s.
- With the support of the Growth and Innovation Coordinator, ensure timely and efficient administration of casual staff.
Evaluation and Communication
- Assist the Growth and Innovation Manager develop an evaluation program to monitor effectiveness of participation programs and recommend future strategies for sustainable program delivery.
- Oversee timely communication to Associations and key stakeholders regarding netball participation products.
- Assist the Communities team to identify key areas/ regions to target for the delivery of specific programs and establish realistic and measurable outcomes.
- Assist the Communities team to identify grant opportunities to support program delivery and growth.
- Coordinate budget, reporting and requirements to support program delivery and growth.
General

- Actively participate and be part of the Netball NSW team, where applicable.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates for the position of the Programs and Events Lead will require a range of personal and professional skills including:
Qualifications and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
- Strong administration and event management skills
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
Knowledge and skills
- Clear, professional and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of the sporting culture, including working with a volunteer workforce.
- A high level of computer expertise covering word processing, presentation software, database skills and Microsoft Office.
- Willing to understand the structure of Clubs/Associations.
