Deaf Sports Australia and New South Wales Deaf Sports are inviting expressions of interest for the role of Sports Development Officer in NSW.
We are looking for someone to join the team in a paid part-time role for 15 hours per week.
The Sports Development Officer will support the development, promotion of deaf sports in New South Wales under guidance of NSW Deaf Sports committee and DSA General Manager. This will include provision and promotion of activities under the brand of DSA’s Active Deaf Kids, as well as assisting the NSWDS Committee with general administration tasks, NSW Deaf Sport Clubs and supporting DSA staff.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has the following skills:
Fluency in Auslan;
Knowledge of Deaf and hard of hearing community;
Good written and interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to work independently;
Knowledge of the sporting industry;
Experience and / or qualifications in: sports development, community development,disability services; project management or similar;
Current driver’s license and Working with Children Check.
