About the Role

Reporting to the People & Culture Business Partner, the People & Culture Graduate will be responsible for coordinating and providing quality people information and administrative support to our workforce across a range of strategic and operational People & Culture initiatives to create high levels of employee engagement, performance, and wellbeing for Hockey Australia and its shared service entities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the effective and accurate day to day delivery of core People & Culture processes including onboarding, learning and development, employee engagement, performance management and offboarding
  • Assist with talent recruitment including drafting job ads, advertising on various platforms, shortlisting applications, interview coordination, background and reference checks
  • Ensure new employees are set up for success on day 1 of their employment by completing Induction Checklists, New Starter IT Checklists and ensuring an Induction Program is in place in collaboration with the new starter’s manager
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate and consistent employment-related documentation including contracts, position descriptions, organisation charts and induction manuals and checklists
  • Prepare correspondence for employees including remuneration reviews, probation reviews, acting allowances, employment development plans and other employment related documentation
  • Assist with general People & Culture and employment enquiries

Remuneration

Hockey Australia will offer a salary package of $60,000 including superannuation.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • Recent graduate (0-2 years’ experience) of degree in Commerce or Business, majoring in Human Resources or similar
  • Genuine willingness to learn new skills via on-the-job training, committed to becoming a AHRI Member, ongoing development and taking on challenging projects
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills gained from previous work experience or community involvement.
  • Team focused with an ability to work independently
  • Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
