We are looking for individuals who have a commitment to safety and a desire to make a positive difference in our community. As a Trainee Swim School Instructor, you will have the opportunity to work across our multi-venue programs and help children and adults learn the lifesaving skill of swimming.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Learn how to effectively deliver swimming lessons in line with Council’s Swim School Instructor Manual (under supervision).
- Learn to set up and pack up all equipment in a timely and safe manner.
- Actively participate in Swim School Team Member in house training.
To be successful in this position, you need to:
- Demonstrate your ability to swim up to swim 25m Freestyle, 25 Backstroke and 25m Breaststroke.
- Demonstrate your ability to learn to teach children in a group class environment.
- Have excellent verbal communication, organisational and time management skills as well as the ability to provide a great customer experience.
- Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Have a current Working With Children Check Clearance number.
- Covid19 requirements: 18yrs and over; 3 Covis-19 Vaccinations. Under 18yrs 2 Vaccines with booster required upon turning 18yrs.
- Be available to complete your training hours during these times:
- Weekday shifts: 3:30pm to 7pm
- Weekend shifts: 8:30am to 2pm
- Be available to attend the course on both Saturday 15 AND Sunday 16 July, 2023
Remuneration:
- Traineeship hourly rate is $20-$24p/h (age dependent) + 10.5% super.
- On completion of the course requirements and training, you will become a fully accredited Swimming Instructor with your hourly rate increasing to $35p/h.
- Penalty rate apply for weekends.
- Ability to apply for higher hourly pay rate after 12 months of accredited employment.
