About The Role
This exciting, new AFL Expansion Hub encompasses marketing, data and sales teams, working together to drive growth of the game in non-traditional football markets.
The Expansion Hub’s initial priority will be to expand on the work of the GWS Giants, Sydney Swans and AFLNSW/ACT in Greater Sydney, with the intent to scale services and capability to other markets and Clubs over time.
Role
The Sales Manager will play a critical role within the AFL’s Expansion Hub to achieve the following objectives for our code
- Increase awareness of AFL in Greater Sydney
- Grow AFL fans in Greater Sydney
- Increase AFL participation in Greater Sydney
- Increase Giants and Swans consumer revenues
- Convert non-fans of our game into first-time participants, attendees, fans and members
The Sales Manager will have a relentless focus on increasing participant and fan acquisition across Greater Sydney through a targeted presence at events and engagements that drive acquisition, revenue and absolute numbers across Greater Sydney AFL participation, Giants and Swans ticketing and membership.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
- Support development and manage execution of the Expansion Hub sales strategy, including product, pricing, and sales plans / approaches to grow code awareness and acquisition across Greater Sydney
- Build and manage a detailed annual local sales calendar across participation and membership
- Support in growth of AFL participation across Greater Sydney
- Drive conversion of AFL participants in Greater Sydney to Giants and Swans attendees, members, and fans
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and develop strategies around pricing, community offers and promotions
- Manage the daily operations of the Hub sales team and multi-channel sales processes
- Develop and regularly review progress against current budgets and business plans
- Drive a customer service program that ensures customer loyalty is built through dependable high customer service levels via all touch points
- Development and implementation of an AFL best practice “prospect management” system
- Develop a strong retention program, primarily aimed at first- and second-year members
- Drive team to increase direct debit membership percentage
- Hiring, training, supervising, supporting and developing of all Sales Staff
- Encouragement of staff professional development
- Drive sales team to exceed call and sales targets
- Implementation of effective management strategies to ensure maximum possible performance of the team and compliance with relevant industry codes and regulations
