School to Work Project Officer - Western Sydney

The NRL is incredibly proud of our School to Work Program ('S2W') - an education and employment program that utilises the positive profile of the game of Rugby League to support and encourage young Indigenous Australians to stay at school, find employment, and be a legend for themselves, their families and their communities.
We are seeking a highly organised, self-motivated, energetic person who shares our love and enthusiasm about Rugby League and making a positive difference to people's lives. This person will represent and share the NRL's beliefs that we are United, Positive, Inclusive and Disciplined.
THE ROLE
The S2W Project Officer will be responsible for the ongoing engagement of all participating schools and eligible students involved in the School to Work program in a culturally appropriate and timely manner. They will ensure that every eligible student in the program is engaged, profiled and supported throughout their entirety in the program and play an integral role in each student achieving their identified career development pathway within 6 months of finishing their schooling.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will have the following skills experience, qualifications and knowledge:
- Experience working with youth in a similar position
- An understanding of the contemporary issues facing Indigenous Australians and the impact these issues have on Indigenous Australian societies and cultures
- Experience in program delivery or outcomes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Team player with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Sound Microsoft Office skills
Please Note: All applicants must have a comprehensively insured car as this is required for the School to Work Project Officer role (a car allowance will form part of the salary package.)
