The AFL Development Team plays an integral part of reaching our goal here at the AFL, which is to enhance and grow the game across all states and all levels – from grassroots to elite.

We are looking for energetic team members, looking to get a start in the sports industry with some real hands-on experience as Auskick Coordinators for some of our junior AFL clubs across all parts of metropolitan Sydney, most notably in Western Sydney. The role of Auskick Coordinator is critical for the growth and sustainability of our junior clubs network and these roles will work directly with a local club volunteer committees and AFL NSW/ACT staff to drive growth in the club based program. This would include overseeing marketing and promotions, driving key activations, and setting up a sustainable coach and volunteer support mechanisms to ensure a quality program.

These are casual roles and hours vary depending on program scheduling but will include some hours of weekend work. The initial commitment is approximately 5 hrs of work weekly, but more hours of work are available in other sectors of the Game Development team for successful applicants if desired.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure each program is delivered in line with the program curriculum and all participants can participate in a safe, friendly & fun environment 
  • Liaise with teachers, schools and other program stakeholders to drive growth at local Auskick centre
  • Support the junior clubs and Auskick centres in relation to retention and recruitment of players through planning and delivering appropriate activities
  • Drive  volunteers engagement and promotion to ensure a successful program
  • Support coaching and local program delivery in line with AFL Auckisk program guidelines
  • Attend Committee meetings as required to ensure club support and alignment
  • Conduct promotional activities to meet participant targets e.g. school assemblies and other promotional activities 
  • Deliver AFL football programs to a range of age groups and skill levels across schools and community groups including Auskick activities
  • Support and contribute to the success of the broader team

  • Working with Children Check (NSW) or Working With Vulnerable People Check (ACT)
  • Meet requirements to work in Australia
  • Ability to show evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
