Sports Coach

Type: Casual (Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, with an additional 4-hours during the school holidays.)
Location: Gordon Golf Course
Ku-ring-gai Council are currently looking for a Sports Coach to assist with the running of our Active Ku-ring-gai Junior Golf programs at Gordon Golf Course! This would be a great opportunity for any sports student to gain experience coaching children and young people, and to earn while doing so.
Our Junior Golf program aims to teach 6-12 year olds the very basics of golf, including putting and chipping, while instilling an enthusiasm for golf within the young people of Ku-ring-gai. Our Intermediate Golf program is the perfect opportunity for 12-16 year olds to build on the skills learnt in the Junior Golf program and increase their time out on the golf course. Position description:
- Assist our PGA Qualified Instructor in coaching our Junior and Intermediate Golf term programs and school holiday clinics
- Assist with the planning of our Junior and Intermediate Golf term programs and school holiday programs
- Create a fun and engaging class environment for all participants
- Maintain communication with Ku-ring-gai Council’s Recreation Programs Officers
Qualifications and Experience:
- University Sports student
- Basic knowledge of and an interest in golf
- Current and valid Working with Children Check
- Current and valid Public Liability Insurance
- Current and valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Community Golf Instructor (preferred but not essential
