Duty Manager - Stadium Operations

Northern Suburbs Basketball Association (Norths) is a not-for-profit sports association, located in the heart of Crows Nest. Norths is dedicated serving our 3,500 members and sharing the love of basketball with our community.
Our new Stadium and Events Manager is looking for a team member to lead our stadium and member services teams when on duty.Focus of this role is to provide an exceptional and safe Member experience for the thousands of members walking through our door every week and providing support for all our local competitions. You will need to be comfortable leading the team in a duty manager type role, performing your own tasks and working collaboratively with like-minded team members.
What will my day look like?
- Ensuring exceptional standard of member services
- Assisting with training and day to day management of casual customer service officers whilst on duty(CSO's)
- Setting up facilities for sports booked on court
- Greeting members as they enter Norths
- Responding and resolving where possible member enquiries, both face to face and over the phone
- Accurately performing administrative tasks (e.g.; court bookings, member registrations, updating member database and handling cash and payment transactions)
- Ensuring familiarity with Norths Bylaws, Competitions and events
The Roster
If successful, we require someone who is available Fridays and Saturdays 10.45 am to 7pm Fridays and Saturdays. Another day may also be available depending on your own preferences.
We usually shut down over major holidays like Christmas/New Year, Easter, Kings Birthday and Labour Day so you won’t miss big occasions with friends or family.
What you will have:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as you work with a diverse member and community base – you have to like people, talking and helping people out!
- You may come from a sports administration background, be a hospitality professional wanting a change, or driven by providing great Member Service experiences.
- A love of sport (it doesn’t have to be basketball!)
- Exposure to managing a busy front desk managing competing demands, using technology and handling money, so attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential
- A current NSW Working with Children’s Check Employee and First Aid Certificate (or prepared to get one)
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Ability to meet WHS requirements (you need to be reasonably fit to set up and demount sports equipment within short periods of time)
- Preferred but not essential - as we have our NBL1 games on weekends it would be great if you have an RSA certificate or willing to get one.
