Basketball NSW is the governing body of basketball in the State of NSW. 

The role of the Content Creator & Communications Coordinator is to assist in content creation involving exposure over social media channels and the BNSW website and will include content creation in the form of news articles, match reports, interviews, images, video creation, and graphics. 

To be successful in this role, you’re an enthusiastic self-starter looking to gain hands-on in various aspects of media and communications work, including multimedia production and event-based media management. 

You have great interpersonal skills, a can-do attitude, good creative judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage projects.

The role will work with and report directly to the Communications & Digital Media Officer. Working in this role will expose the correct applicant to an elite sporting environment and the wider basketball NSW community.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and delivery of media content for NBL1 East and Spalding Waratah Senior League which includes management of broadcasted Game of the Weeks, match reports, video creation & editing, interviews, and social media assets.
  • Enhance and drive growth and exposure in line with the organisation’s marketing strategy.
  • Champion content creation for social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram and websites.
  • Manage the day-to-day needs of the Basketball NSW media and marketing team.
  • Attend BNSW events which would include weekend work from time to time. Time in Lieu will be given for any weekend work in line with the Time in Lieu Policy.


ATTRIBUTES:

  • Demonstrated interest in communications, especially social media, marketing, and/or communications
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience or interest in graphic creation with strong visual skills
  • Strong writing skills, including precise grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Experience in Public Relations (including conducting written and oral interviews)
  • Ability to network and build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently and as part of a broader team

 
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Media / Marketing / Communications Degree qualification in relevant field 
  • Sound knowledge of the Adobe creative suites, social media platforms/trends, and Microsoft applications
  • Already an avid fan of Basketball 


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Valid Drivers Licence
