Coaching & First Aid Work Experience Opportunities

Australian Sports Camps (ASC) provides sports coaching for Australian Children and has done so for over 38 years. We run structured skill-improvement sport programs, ensuring that participants have fun whilst developing a deeper love and enthusiasm for their chosen sport.
Dates and Hours: Programs run for 3 days, 9am-3pm, for children 5-15 years old (see attached timetable for camps)
Requirements: WWC
Group Coach (Entry Level)
Group coaches are responsible for “on the ground” coaching looking after 8-10 children.
They will be designated a group and a group folder. The folder will have all the coach reports, fitness testing, daily planner, skills and drills and everything you will need to run your group each day. The role of a GC is to make sure the daily planner is kept to, ensuring the children are improving, having fun and also getting to know their fellow group members. If you are unsure of any activities the coaching director is their to help and guide you.
Video & First Aid Officer (Entry Level)
The video and first aid officer is responsible for making sure all “off field” activities are taken care of.
- Sick children are attended to
- Calling parents if injury occurs
- Making sure first aid tub stocked accordingly
- Helping with in-coming and out-going roll check
- Videoing children doing certain skill for their sport which the coaching director will then discuss with each children how they went completed the drill
- You must have working with children check and first aid
Coaching Director (Mid-Level - Senior)
The coaching director role is vital to ensure that the children attending are not only enjoying the activities but also learning.
The role is overseeing the group coaches making sure there is a balance between keeping children interested and active but also making sure they have fun and want to continue playing their chosen sport.
All coaches receive daily planners and skill booklets, the CD is responsible that the coaches stick to the planner making sure each group with their coach are engaged, having fun and keeping active.
