Biathlon Australia /Biathlon East AUS are looking for 2 intern placements for roles in sport communications and social media management. There will also be google analytics reviewing and statistic reporting.

Part Time: 15 hours per week
Location: Remote
Position Purpose: Support the communication and engagement efforts of both Biathlon Australia (BA) and Biathlon East Australia (BEA) and in particular lead the promotion of social media presence; online and other supporting communications (eg. newsletters and emails). The role will include website review and improvement. The role may also assist in tracking the success of our social media and digital platforms through metric measures and google analytics.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop social media posting strategies to grow interest, engagement and participation in biathlon.
2. Develop social media postings that promote our corporate sporting identity.
3. Develop appropriate content for each of the preferred social media platforms (including our digital assets eg. websites).
4. Research the combining of social media accounts and closing of those no longer needed.
5. Draft news stories suitable for the website, develop newsletters and general communications for members and athletes.
6. Develop guidelines for the use of our social media and digital platforms that facilitate the successful “transfer” of knowledge regarding content and timing of social media posts to subsequent interns and volunteers.
7. Be involved in continuously upgrading and development of websites.
8. Curate photos and social media content (usually sourced from members) that provide an easy repository of content.
9. Analyse metrics and analytics to evaluate and meaure results and use this information to refine ongoing social media strategies and postings.
10. Liaise with members of the Boards of BA and BEA and other relevant sub committees eg: Communication and Branding Sub Committee
11. Other duties as directed to assist in promoting biathlon in Australia across various communication platforms assisting member and participation growth.
