ABOUT US

Softball NSW is the peak governing body responsible for conducting, encouraging, promoting and developing all forms of Softball in and throughout New South Wales through and via various affiliates, for the mutual and collective benefit of all members as well as the sport. Softball NSW is an affiliate member of Softball Australia. 

OUR INTERNSHIPS

At Softball NSW, we have created a flexible internship program that allows you to work with a tight-knit community, coming up with new ideas and ways to shape our sport for the future. Our internship program is designed to work with you. It is designed to work both during the semester as well as during breaks. There is always lots going on!

WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT OF THIS INTERNSHIP

Our internship program will allow you to: 

  • Work in and with an Olympic sport 
  • Partner with sporting organizations and gain insights into how others operate
  • Develop an ability to identify, create and drive our new digital strategy
  • Work with volunteers and key stakeholders on how to communicate effectively and develop communication protocols
  • Engage with elite athletes, officials, and other key community members and share their journeys
  • Play a role in evolving the overall communication strategy of the organisation

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DURING THE INTERNSHIP

  • Prepare, write, and edit event regulations and documentation
  • Assist with event preparation, delivery, and management
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and management of State Championships, Leagues and other events
  • Assist with the research relating to the Softball NSW events strategy
  • Assist in identifying possible participation strategies and opportunities for Softball NSW
  • Assist the Events & Facilities Coordinator in the creation of a strategic marketing plan relating to the alternative events strategy across associated events
  • Assist in creating and managing premier events, including National and International Championships and event

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed or studying Degree in Events, Sports Administration, or related field
  • Experience in sport/event delivery
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
