ABOUT US

Softball NSW is the peak governing body responsible for conducting, encouraging, promoting and developing all forms of Softball in and throughout New South Wales through and via various affiliates, for the mutual and collective benefit of all members as well as the sport. Softball NSW is an affiliate member of Softball Australia. 

OUR INTERNSHIPS

At Softball NSW, we have created a flexible internship program that allows you to work with a tight-knit community, coming up with new ideas and ways to shape our sport for the future. Our internship program is designed to work with you. It is designed to work both during the semester as well as during breaks. There is always lots going on!

WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT OF THIS INTERNSHIP

Our internship program will allow you to: 

  • Work in and with an Olympic sport 
  • Partner with sporting organizations and gain insights into how others operate
  • Develop an ability to identify, create and drive our new digital strategy
  • Work with volunteers and key stakeholders on how to communicate effectively and develop communication protocols
  • Engage with elite athletes, officials, and other key community members and share their journeys
  • Play a role in evolving the overall communication strategy of the organisation

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DURING THE INTERNSHIP

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities to promote Softball and related products and services through digital media
  • Research, write and edit digital and social media content, including editorials, social media posts and other related content pieces
  • Manage presence in and prepare content for social media platforms of the organisation, as well as look at other related community sites and content seeding opportunities
  • Determine and monitor performance indicators for social media programs, and analyse, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns to maximise results and identify opportunities 
  • Review digital media strategies and requirements of Softball NSW and recommend updates to align opportunities and demand
  • Assist (if needed) in online coverage of Softball events including state championships and other activations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed or pursuing a degree in Communications or a related field
  • 1+ years experience in social media/digital marketing
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube & TikTok 
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting
  • Basic knowledge of image & video editing software
  • Availability during weekends (desirable, not mandatory)

Essential Requirements

  • Sports Marketing / PR / Communications Degree
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
