Pickleball NSW is a new sporting association (Incorporated two years ago) with a lot of things that we are trying to do in our ever expanding vista. We are a non for profit volunteer organisation.
Key details:
Work would be done online/virtually given the current restrictions, and anyone working with us will be helping to create the shape of pickleball in NSW. We are able to accommodate a number of interns, with roles outlined as below:
Inclusion programs:
introduction of wheelchair pickleball starting with four Sydney clubs and then expanding
preparation for visually impaired pickleball to be introduced next year
supporting new pickleball players with Parkinson's disease
Marketing & Communications:
Creating an introductory booklet for local councils about pickleball, what requirements we have for play and what we can offer to the community
rethinking our website - impact and communication
creating an introductory how to play pickleball program for venue coordinators
creation of a number of brochures for pickleball plus other marketing materials
creation of some small videos about pickleball in NSW
expanding our Ambassador program
Events & programs:
creating a program for pickleball in schools and holiday programs
organising the Regional Doubles tournament to be held in Ballina
organising the first inter state competition of NSW vs QLD.
Community engagement:
building partnerships with community organisations
formulating a multi layered approach for fundraising
