Join Dr David Lipman for an insightful session exploring the role of weight loss drugs in sport. The talk will trace their background and history, outline key effects and side effects, and highlight the unique challenges of working with runners who use them. Discussion will also cover fueling strategies, the implications of the WADA banned substance list, and a look ahead at the next generation of weight loss drugs. While focused on runners, the session offers valuable insights for anyone supporting athletes across disciplines.
Dr David Lipman is a health and human performance specialist holding degrees in exercise physiology, podiatry and medicine. He has coached athletes across the spectrum of strength to endurance and team sports, and currently consults to various elites and professionals. Stepping away from clinical practice, he now works in startups advising a number and co-founding one currently. Beyond coaching, he has himself competed across the breadth of sports, most recently in ultramarathons and marathons.
