Join Chris Gaviglio a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science at UniSQ and Strength & Conditioning Coach with over 25 years of experience working across multiple Winter and Summer Olympic sports and professional football codes. With a background in track and field, Chris is currently head coach to Olympic Decathlete Cedric Dubler, and strength coach to sprinter Riley Day.
He consults with athletes world-wide and has presented extensively on Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training, with a particular focus on its safe and effective application in from rehabilitation through to high-performance settings.
Chris also runs BFR Radio, a podcast dedicated to translating BFR research into practical strategies for coaches and clinicians.
This presentation offers a clear, step-by-step introduction to using Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) safely and effectively. It will outline key safety considerations, practical tips for determining and checking cuff pressures, and simple guidelines for structuring BFR sessions. We will also explore the wide range of applications for BFR, from rehabilitation to strength and cardiovascular training, pain management, and strategies to maximise muscular strength and power development.
